We all experience difficulties in our lives at times. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, angry, anxious, stuck in a behaviour pattern, experiencing low mood or sadness from the past, or facing a specific life challenge, counselling can offer a safe and confidential space to talk things through.

My therapeutic approach.

I work in an integrative way which means that I use different theories depending on what seems best suited to you during our sessions. The theories I tend to use are Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and CBT.

I work in client centred way which holds you to be at the centre of our work together. You can talk about what you want to talk about and I will aim to go at a pace that suits you.

I hold a special interest in trauma and how it can impact on different elements of our lives. We may behave in certain ways in certain situations because of our past experiences, and may hold onto coping and defence mechanisms that we are consciously unaware of. Counselling can help to recognise these and to help unpack them in a safe way.

Unresolved trauma can manifest within our bodies without us even knowing and potentially cause health problems.

I have depth of experience in narcissistic abuse and recovery from this. This is a particular type of abuse that can happen to anyone and is often insidious in its presentation. It can happen in any type of relationship but often does the most damage when it is perpetrated by a loved one.
